...I would like to share my thoughts with you. Ahem.

  • One week without ponies or internet is painful.

  • Catching up one week of ponies and internet is absolutely ridiculous.

  • I hate mosquitoes.

  • I am upset that I had to miss Bronycon.

  • I am upset that I had to miss Bronycon.

  • I have never been so happy to see a real toilet in my life.

  • Being illiterate sucks.

  • Fast food in Taiwan is far more novel to me than it should be.

  • I cannot wait to start drawing again.

I went to BrinyCon, it was a bad decision.
Could barely keep my head above water and the good exhibits were several feet down. Then I rented some SCUBA gear and I got to see some of the exhibits.
The sea ponies were nice looking.
You have to point to what you want and then they sign it and mail it home to you. The worst part was having to get a pedicure because the salt water+flippers messed up the look of my hooves.

Maybe if they had a Bronycon near me I would go.
Probably would have less swimming.

You got to got to Taiwan, thats cool.
Travel broadens the mind.

I tried to send a letter to Celestia but the mail mare sent it to Molestia instead.
That evening was very strange.
*Fingers scars*
You have no idea how bad Alicorn vomit smells.
Ewww!
Oh wait, I can't use "vomit" its bad for the Princess's image, how about "Digestate"? The Princess involuntarily left some Royal Digestate on my bed.
Maybe I can sell it on Ebay?

Were there a lot of people at BrinyCon? I can't imagine what the seaponies would do if everyone cried out in distress at the same time.

There were a few.
Most of the folks knew to bring SCUBA gear.
If you go to the next one, rent your gear from somewhere else.
Don't rent from the folks around the event, they will scalp you.

There is actually a thing called Bronycon?

But no toilets. Augh. auuuugh I know you are a dude and so it's not quite as intense for you as it would be for me, but I AM SO SORRY, THAT IS TERRIBLE. Still.

Was Taiwan cool?????? :D

Yup. I don't know where they've been getting the funding to be holding it as often as they have, but BronyCons only started being held just last summer with 90-ish people. This previous weekend was the fourth BronyCon held, with 4000+ people. Talk about exponential growth.

AND TOILETS. Like, I thought toilets in American public restrooms were questionable. LOOK AT THIS: [link] AKLJSDKJFKLHSDFJ. The dorm we're staying at has real toilets, but a fast food joint has even better ones! What the heck? #rantsabouttoilets

I'm not quite out of Taiwan yet. Not for another month and a half. I just have internet now. And I can't say it's cool, because it's actually really hot over here. Doh ho ho! No, but it's been fun, with all the various definitions of "fun," like getting to eat all this awesome food and only being able to communicate half of what I want to say.

HOLY COW, over 4000 in one year???? That's amazing! I'm friends with a... "pegasister" (that's the term for girls, I think) and she's kind of wanted to go to one for awhile, so she will find this news pleasing. As for funding, it's possible that they... pony up the cash in the form of donations from the Bronies. And yes, I just wanted to make that pun.
But please, please, because I'm a sucker for both that really stupid meme and Vegeta himself, please alert me when the number's over... well, you know. Nine thousand. :iconvegetaplz:

Ughghghghghg the low-to-the-ground (on the ground?) think is KILLER, I can tell. and the toilet itself ain't sparklin', buuuut... the tile looks clean? *Yay optimism?*
But honestly dorm toilets are frequently the worst. :/

Taiwan... not "cool"... pfffft. It was 106 where I am the other day, so I think I understand, jokes aside.

I would trade awesome food for communication. I mean, even two English speakers in the same room manage to bungle communicating to one another most of the time. XD

Probably won't take that long to surprise Vegeta, though I do wonder how they intend to top this one. On the one hand, the lineup for panels included a ton of VAs, Q from Star Trek TNG, a couple writers, and the creator of the show herself. On the other hand, they had to cap attendance to 4000 people. So who knows how the numbers will be next year. Heck, if it does break 9000, you can be sure I won't be the only one making the joke.

I wonder how the con-runners feel about these exponential growing logistical nightmares.

As for Taiwan, communication would definitely be the better choice. I mean, I've been okay with eating pretty much anything and it's been fun (oh hey, pig intestines aren't actually half bad), but I also totally feel like a burden on anyone who has to translate everything for me. The one time I had to go solo for a single meal, I went to a fast food joint where all I had to do was say a number and it still went horribly. :\

Whaaaat! They had to cap it of??? It migh well have already been over nine thousaaaaaaaaand!

I think the con runners are one part thrilled and two parts terrified. It's gotta be hard to corral that many Bronies and even harder to turn them away. :/

(In the south we call fried pig intestines chitterlings and they're decent, though I thiiink I've only had them once.) Ha ha. Fast food. Tell me, do they do like they do in Japan (and I think China does this, too- I'm not trying to stereotype so much as actually find out) and put eggs on, like, EVERYTHING?

I'm sure if you tried to speak the language, they'd give you points for effort!! :) I'm sure they're amused a little at translating... I know I would be. Just make the best you can of it!! :D

Seriously. Staff learned their lesson; in the January con, they sold 600 tickets and their space was one room for the Artists' Alley and check-in, a hallway with more Artist tables, and the ballroom for the panels. More than 700 people showed up to try to get crammed in there and it didn't work. So yeah, that's why they had to cap it off and why no one's allowed to buy tickets at the door anymore. This summer con, they actually got a real convention center instead of a little space in a hotel.

Eggs? If that's a stereotype, I've never heard it before. Or seen it. Initially, I was actually sort of excited about the fast food because the first fast food joint we ate at was totally Asian-ized or what-have-you. Like, in place of fries, they had chicken nuggets; the burger I got was called a hamburger, but I totally recognize the vegetarian patty flavor; and the complementary dipping sauce was hot and sour sauce. You can even order the bun on burgers to be a rice bun. Heck, that's the default! And I was all, "This is hilarious and novel!" But I guess that's strictly to that restaurant chain (which is only over here?) because the McDonald's and KFC didn't really have anything cool.

CHICKEN NUGGETS OVER FRIES??? I-- actually, that sounds really good. Hmmmmmmm. But veggie patty burger... eh.
What... what's a rice bun like?

Yup. It was practically impossible to move. In particular the one hallway with the Artist's Alley connected the registration room and the ballroom and held the bathrooms. And that is why 700 people couldn't fit. I think they had to turn away a ton of people who wanted to buy tickets at the door. Y'know. Space. And probably breaking a ton of fire hazard regulations.

Veggie patties are alright. And a rice bun is literally rice in the compacted into the shape of those burger buns. As opposed to a rice bun that you might by at a non-fastfood joint, which is kind of like a ball that is a rice product. I didn't actually get to eat the burger with the rice bun; I guess they assumed that if I couldn't speak Chinese, then I would be "more at home" with a bread bun. :I

Oh, Japan. The island of novel, innovative, and absolutely off-the-wall weird ideas. I'm also trying to think which version of Ronald McDonald would be creepier to put on those benches. Original Ronald is creepy enough, but Bishie Ronald would make some hilarious pictures.

Three weeks without internet? Yikes. But at least you won't have a BronyCon to catch up on, as far as pony is concerned. And that Chinese dub; it's like I'm watching the show for the first time again. Abso-freaking-lutely wonderful.

After getting over the fact that you're going to miss Lauren Faust and John de Lancie, and then you become aware that more writers and VAs joined in... Yes. Very possible to be upset twice.

I heard they increased the size of the Artist's Alley too, so all that missed swag! :(
