I always wondered about Pit's effinity to hot springs in this game. He always reminds me of Kirby's love for food, going so much as to go after it if it elevates from view (you know what I am talking about). Sakurai has always made great games; the Kirby, Smash Bros., and Kid Icarus are good examples.
Actually, I think Pit's love for hot springs was something that was grandfathered in. I checked out a playthrough of the first game because I'm a huge nerd, and if I understand correctly, hot springs were far and few between and were the only means of recovering health. Well, aside from spending hearts on healing potions which were also once per level.
It was really impressive looking what was brought in from the original game. Props to Sakurai and his team for expanding as much as they did from such a simple NES game.
LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT KID ICARUS It's horribly addictive, crazy awesome, and has hilarious dialogue. It really is like an entire shonen series, but as a game. The only real issue is the controls can take some getting used to (heaven help you if you're left handed). You actually kinda have to hunker down and really learn how to play if you intend to tackle the higher difficulties. By the time I figured that out, I had already struggled through the entire game on medium difficulty for my first playthrough.
But it's totally worth getting. I'd almost buy it just because the dialogue and banter is a chock-full of cheese, snark, and forth-wall breaking. Major props to the localization team. Maybe that's why I had so much trouble. I was too busy laughing to focus on not dying.
I'm told that I make way too much sense when I am joking. It's a little scary.
WHY DO YOU GET TO PLAY ALL THESE FUNDERFUL GAMES FIRST??? I'VE STILL BARELY ENTERED THE LANAYRU SAND OCEAN IN SKYWARD SWORD!!!!! Afhhfgdjgfdgijffgg but I'm over it let's talk Pit.
Well, unfortunately, I AM left-handed. But you can adjust the difficulty? Okay. Maybe I can do this.
Ohhhh, Pit's dialogue is funny? WHEW! I was afraid of him talking so much, honestly- 80's Zelda cartoon nightmares kept popping into my head (although to be honest, if anyone ever said "Well, excuuuuuuuuuuse ME, princess" I'd lose it and just start laughing because... I'd just start laughing) and while I know Pit is hardly Link, the possibility for disaster was there.
Girl, you need to get your game on! There is a left-handed control scheme, though I wouldn't know how well it would handle. Difficulty is set at intensity 2 for default which is pretty doable even with the starter weapons, at intensity 0 enemies don't even shoot, and then somewhere between intensities 8 and 9 it goes from "really, really hard" to "if something coughs, you're pretty much dead." Naturally, you get better weapons from harder intensities.
Oh, the localization team knew exactly what they were writing. I almost wish they included "excuuuuuuse me, princess." Heaven knows they already have enough nerdy references. Or maybe it is in there. See, there's a bunch of random event dialogue sprinkled around to keep levels interesting even on replays. I just love the dialogue so much; everything is just so quotable. Also, I think this game is pretty much proof that Nintendo can voice, localize, and dub their stuff without making it suck. In fact, they made it great.
No idea about Pit's shoes, though. They're kinda... sandal... boots. Huh.
Did Did you just Did you just tell me to get my game on?? afhdlhrtutlghljhglhgkjlhjh This just got REAL.
I know you are a guy, but this calls for a loud and boisterous,
"Uh-HUH GUUURL. MMPH! *neck bob* Now that's what I'M talkin' bout!!!!! I'mma need to get me some N-to the-I-to the-N-T-E-N-D-O action, baby- gotta git me summa that sweetness from the Sugah Pit. Kid Icarus is gonna be MAN Icarus when I'm done wit him!!" *triple z-formation fingersnap*
I am not responsible nor do I necessarily share the opinions of my apparent inner black woman. What the H3LL did you just make me type????? XD
Sometimes- just SOMETIMES, I would like to be a localizer. And Nintendo usually does a decent job on MOST things... oh wow, this game sounds so fun!!!!! One day. One day, it will be mine.
Pit's got the one-up on us in fashion... or he has no idea. Bootsandals, bike shorts, togadress, crown of laurels.... all on one chatty, androgynous boy.
