Still sorting through messages, which is why this didn't go up the day it was finished (in response to the Sisterhooves Social episode). I gotta say, I really like what the brown outline does for the picture (which was kinda what I testing anyways) in contrast to the darkened color or just a black outline. Unfortunately, I'm still pretty terrible at shading, so we'll see what I can do about that. Also considering messing around with some lineless and using gradients for shading.

One last thing: sometimes, the entire Apple family is best pony.

Dang I don't know the Ponie's names, but I really like the colors you chose for the tan/pink one in the back's eyes, they really stand out!
If I can offer some help on the shading, maybe try some more vibrant colors? For colorful art of the ponies like this, I kind of think maybe some red tinted shading might make it pop a little.
I'm clearly no master though, that's just my two cents! (: Just experiment with colors until you find something that suits what you want I guess!

You may be right. I was trying to go for warmth, but the brown shading just sort of muddies it up. More saturation might be what the flats need as a whole. Well, it's a start, I guess. Eventually I hope to be able to do stuff like PurpleKecleon, and have a whole bunch of weird colors and lighting and still have it make sense.

Yeah I totally know what you mean. It's handy sometimes to try and reference pallets sometimes for ideas of your own. Color is really fun, because it's so open ended.
I think oranges and reds look really good for warmth, and even pinks.
Best of luck with it!
